You are cordially invited to attend the first-ever Library Champion Celebration hosted by the New Jersey State Library! On November 19th, at the Hamilton Manor, in Hamilton, NJ, the New Jersey State Library will recognize our New Jersey Library Champions-actions and advocacy that support library services in New Jersey. The proceeds from this event will support the NJSL Talking Book and Braille Center.

The 2010 Library Champion award winners who will be present are:

Pat Tumulty, President NJLA Ms. Tumulty advocated tirelessly during our most recent fiscal crisis on behalf of New Jersey libraries; their staff and programs. Her efforts did not go unnoticed by our state legislature. Pat was our voice when it needed to be heard!!!

Linda Greenstein, New Jersey State Assemblywoman Assemblywoman Greenstein has been a tireless advocate of the New Jersey Library system, always supporting our services

New Jersey Devils The New Jersey Devils actively supports early childhood literacy and encourages its players to become Library Champions of the youth in New Jersey.

Comcast Foundation The Comcast Foundation has actively supported the New Jersey State Library and the Talking Book & Braille Center with assistive technologies for our neighbors who struggle to read the printed word.

Tina & Rocco Fiorentino, Founder, The Little Rock Foundation Blind at birth, Rocco Fiorentino has been a role model and mentor for all children that learn differently, read differently, and experience the world differently. Rocco advocates tirelessly for Braille literacy in New Jersey and established October as Blindness Awareness Month in the state.

Ottilie Lucas, Secretary, Friends of the NJSL for the Blind and Handicapped A tireless community advocate, Ms. Lucas spoke out on our behalf at public hearings throughout the state, educating our legislatures on the importance of New Jersey\xB9s libraries.
