A clarification on JerseyCat problem. Libraries can still fill requests that arrive in their Lender Requests pending file. The problem is on the borrowing side only. JerseyCat is currently undergoing connectivity problems. Please hold off on requests until this is resolved. If you have made requests this morning that have already come back as unfilled, please delete them and  issue new requests once the system is back up and running. If you have requests in Awaiting Approval status, leave them there as well until resolution. Libraries who have their holdings in the NJ Union catalog are asked to update their holdings with Auto-Graphics at least once a year. The JerseyCat staff at the State Library is committed to ensuring that our member libraries are getting most out of the JerseyCat interlibrary loan system. To that end, I will be visiting NJ libraries this spring to observe how they are using the system, seeing what works (or what doesn't work) on a day-to-day basis. I will also be soliciting comments about any improvements or changes that users think should be made to the system. Items stuck in return file - update

September 27th 2016

Auto-Graphics identified a problem/flaw with ISO messaging that is preventing returned out of state loans from being deleted. So far they have not been able to fix this problem. So, as a workaround, they went in and deleted any items that were in the return file prior to January of this year. If they are not able to fix the ISO problem so that returns are deleted one by one (as they should be) they will instead run the clean up every quarter. If you have sent return numbers for deletion please be patient. We have had so many that Auto-Graphics is trying to come up with a quicker solution. They will be deleted in the near future. If you are responding to the message about items stuck in Return status please send only items from out of state (as below). In state items stuck in Return must be updated by the individual NJ lenders. Original message: Many libraries have items stuck in their Returned files, some have been there for years.
