I often get requests on this very same topic from my patrons.  Here is a short list that I usually suggest that covers various oppositional behaviors in picture book form.  Hope it helps.
  1. No! by Tracey Corderoy (My personal favorite) and here is a video showing the author reading the book https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvA4oHGZ6FA
  2. Jilly's Terrible Temper Tantrums: And How She Outgrew Them by Martha Heineman Piper
  3. Llama, Llama Mad at Mama by Anna Dewdney
  4. Five Nice Mice by Chisato Tashiro
  5. Teeth Are Not For Biting by Elizabeth Verdick
  6. Hands Are Not For Hitting by Martine Agassi

Greetings!

My 18 month old great-niece is at that stage where she is refusing to cooperate with her parents and uses the “No” word with growing frequency.

Could anyone please come up with recommendations for books suitable for that age group which deal with the “terrible twos” and model appropriate behavior?

Her father and I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

Janice
