Subject: U of WA requesting your help for needs analysis survey by youth services staff
Date: April 16th 2018

FYI, Youth Services Staff,

The University of Washington Information School is engaged in an IMLS grant project to perform a needs analysis that will provide a deeper understanding of what public libraries need to be more effective community anchors for families with children ages 0-12, in underserved communities, who do not utilize the library (find out more here: https://www.imls.gov/sites/default/files/grants/lg-97-17-0040-17/proposals/lg-97-17-0040-17-preliminary-proposal.pdf).  As part of their research, they’re seeking feedback on a survey from youth services staff across the country. I was asked to send out this information to you to see if anyone would be willing to help:

Do you, as library staff, offer programs and services out in community locations to reach and serve children and families in underserved communities? If so, researchers at the University of Washington Information School invite you to participate in a virtual survey about programs and services you are offering outside of library walls for children and families in underserved communities. Click the link below to learn more about the study or to give your consent to complete the survey.

UW Project LOCAL Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2NNYGDG

Once you click on the link, you will be taken to a consent form where you can choose whether or not to participate in the study. If you choose to participate, you will be taken directly into the survey. This survey should take less than 30 minutes to complete. If at any time during the survey you would prefer not to finish, you can stop. We will keep each individual’s responses confidential. We will not disclose which libraries were represented nor who did or did not participate in the study. If you have any questions about the study please contact the Project LOCAL team at ...@uw.edu">loca...@uw.edu.

Sincerely,

The Project LOCAL Team
