FYI,
I’m forwarding this opportunity to present at a conference to you ~Sharon
Dear Youth Services Library Professionals,
Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy (CLEL) is seeking guest speakers for our first professional development opportunity of the year! This April we plan to host a panel on Supporting Young Children's Literacy After Preschool.
Most children transition from learning to read to reading to learn by age 7. Although storytime stops at most libraries after the preschool years, emerging readers still need support. How can libraries continue to young children and their caregivers through this transition?
Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy (CLEL) is seeking speakers from a variety of library settings across the state to share their success stories! New presenters are also encouraged to submit. What programs, services or staff training has your library developed to support emergent literacy for ages 5-7? For example, have you launched an Early Readers Book Club? Developed staff training around Early Readers? What have you learned along the way? We hope you'll consider sharing your experiences with us and our members in an April Zoom Panel!
Interested panelists should submit their information for consideration through this Google Form by Friday, February 26th: https://forms.gle/S6K7ZAdLkb3Rugzc9.
All potential panelists will be notified of their status by Tuesday, March 2nd. Selected panelists will be eligible for compensation. Final panel date to be determined in coordination with selected speakers. Live captioning will be provided; additional accommodations are also available by request.
