Description

The  National Student Poets Program [imls.gov] (NSPP) is a partnership between the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Scholastic’s non-profit, The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. Come meet the chosen Class of 2021 National Student Poets from around the country and hear about their passion and talents surrounding poetry and how they are applying that passion to powerful community projects to help address important needs of youth and communities today.  Our poets all have experience with leading poetry workshops with children and teens and welcome this opportunity to brainstorm with you how they can support youth library programming involving poetry, creative writing, self-expression, etc.  Areas of interest to the National Poets in the application and impact of poetry include its healing capabilities and mental health, music, science, disabilities, nature, STEM, ancestry, and more.  Join our inspiring National Student Poets and brainstorm ways to connect them with your teens through unique and creative teen programming.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

~Sharon
