2026 CSLP Summer Library Program Survey Open

The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) has created a survey so they can better assess the usefulness of the materials offered by the program on a national level to better serve you, the CSLP public library membership! 

The survey opens today and the deadline to complete the survey is September 11, 2026.

Help Shape the Future of CSLP Artwork! – Deadline to Apply is July 24, 2026

CSLP is seeking volunteer applicants from member public libraries to serve on our Artwork Committee, one of the most impactful committees within the organization. Committee members play a vital role in helping guide the visual direction of future CSLP themes and ensuring artwork is inclusive, engaging, and relevant for the many different communities our member libraries serve. Committee Composition and Time Commitment:

The Artwork Committee consists of approximately 15-20 members, including State Representatives and frontline library staff with summer reading experience. 

Committee members will serve for two theme cycles (2028 and 2029) beginning work on August 1, 2026, providing continuity and perspective throughout the artwork development process. This two-year commitment involves monthly meetings and 2-4 hours of work each month conducted through virtual meetings and Basecamp project management platform. 

Responsibilities include:

• Recommending artists for the 2028 and 2029 themes

2. Helping develop artist briefs, project scopes, and creative expectations

3. Reviewing and providing feedback on initial poster concepts and subsequent design drafts

4. Helping identify spot art needs that support both library marketing efforts and CSLP products

5. Reviewing spot art concepts and multiple rounds of revisions

6. Collaborating with the Vendor Committee on artwork-related product needs

7. Providing feedback on member surveys related to artwork and products

We encourage applicants from a variety of public library sizes to apply. Diverse perspectives help create artwork that truly serves all CSLP member libraries.

CSLP 2029 Slogan & 2030 Theme Listening Sessions Scheduled for August

Any public library staff member participating in the CSLP Summer Library Program is invited to join the conversation to refine the 2029 slogan (nature theme) and suggestions for the 2030 theme.

We encourage all members that have an interest in wordsmithing to join the call to discuss your favorites slogan and theme suggestions.
