Announcing the NEW Cookbook Book Clubs
The Book Clubs are free webinars, where you gather with librarians and staff to discuss how you've used Cookbooks, how you'd like to use the Cookbooks, and how you've used other tech resources in your library to achieve a goal or implement technology. If you're interested in joining in the fun, please take a moment to click this link and answer a couple questions so we can make sure you're on the invite list for a Book Club this summer. I hope you join these informal discussions. You're bound to learn something new from the experiences of others! Webinar: Notes on wireless and acceptable use policies This month's 30-minute webinar focuses on wireless and acceptable use policies, drawing on the expertise and experiences of Louise Alcorn, Reference Technology Librarian at West Des Moines Public Library (IA), contributor to Recipes for a 5-Star Library Cookbook, and co-author of Wireless Networking: A How-To-Do-It Manual for Librarians. She'll chat about her experiences with wireless, including considerations around the ever-important wireless acceptable use policy. Take 30 minutes out of your day and learn from the experiences of others. Get started with wireless at your library, and visit WebJunction for more information about the webinar. WHEN: Wednesday, May 21, 11:00 am PST (that's THIS Wednesday!) WHERE: WebJunction's webinar space If you can't attend... check back soon to the webinar link above to listen to the archive on WebJunction. You can also continue the conversation in the MaintainIT "After the Webinar" discussion on WebJunction. Share your experiences with us Have you chatted with Kami, Chris, or Courtney from MaintainIT yet? We'd love to share your ideas and your experiences with other libraries. Even if you think you have nothing to offer, remember that what may be "that's nothing!" to you, may be an "aha!" to someone else. Your experiences will help others, that much we know for sure. Please get in touch, and we'll set up an informal interview. Get in touch with us, here. Tell us what you think We're always happy to hear from you. If you have a Cookbook or two, please share your thoughts so we can improve upon the content we create. Please complete a short, anonymous survey to tell us what you think: Rural and Small Libraries and Recipes for 5-Star Library. Thanks for your continued participation and support. Please keep in touch. -sarah washburn The MaintainIT Project of TechSoup maintainit@PROTECTED
