Hi, all.
Attached are the documents I sent yesterday in .xls format in case you couldn\x92t open the .xlxs files. I hope the following FAQ will answer any questions you have, but please let me know if it does not.
Best wishes, Victoria

We have been unable to locate any Census data through any search. Where is it available? The link for census information is: http://factfinder2.census.gov/main.html To use this site: Click on Geographies Enter New Jersey into the search box On the Name tab that appears enter the name of your town. You will be presented with the town and information about the town\x92s census.
How will the 2010 Census information be used for PCSA? The 2010 Census will be used to calculate the per capita piece of PCSA, but the 2000 Census will be used to calculate whether or not minimum standards are met.
We submitted our report several weeks ago, and our survey has been locked. How do I fix the population amount?
You can\x92t change the population figure as it is locked. NJSL does not use that field of the survey to calculate PCSA. The population is hard-coded into the software that runs PCSA. For next year, NJSL staff will change the population figures on your survey to reflect the 2010 Census.
Minimum standards for libraries are based on population. If our population change puts us into a higher group, will we be penalized this year? No. Since the 2010 population figures were not available by municipality to anyone before February of 2011, NJSL will not be failing anyone for failure to meet the new population minimum service levels for 2010 data.
Should we take any action if our service population has increased? If the 2010 Census population has placed you in a higher level of service, it is hoped that this will not be a problem as these are minimum standards. If it will be an issue for you for 2011 data (paid in 2012), please contact Scherelene Schatz at sschatz@PROTECTED.
Why won\x92t there be any correction to the amount we received in September of 2010? The check you received in September of 2010 was based on 2009 data, and so there is no adjustment needed.
Who is supposed to make a 'certified recalculation?' On what basis would this occur and when? If your municipality believes there was some miscalculation, they will appeal the population amount to the Census Bureau. This is a fairly rare occurrence and your municipal CFO will have further information should you need it.
