Dear Directors,

We hope to receive the 2011 Table of Equalized Valuation the first week of October. As soon as Treasury sends it to us, I will send it to you via the listserve.

PCSA checks are being prepared and the amount for each library is shown in the attached spreadsheet (Total payment vs Prior year \x96 For Directors.xls) under the column titled \x93Check Amount\x94. If you have a question about the amount, you may want to review the attached information on millage (Millage expressed as decimal post.xls). Also, please note that we are using 2010 Census data to compute PCSA and changes in population could be responsible for changes in dollar amounts in the checks. The attached spreadsheet (2010 2000 Comparison.xls) may prove helpful in analyzing any changes in check amount from last year to this year.

County library systems and libraries that are part of a county library system have a more complicated formula. Changes may be attributed to an increase or decrease in the rate and/or the distribution of PCSA within the county system as determined by formula.

Checks will be mailed by October 1, 2011. Please contact me if you have any questions, or if you have not received a check by November 1, 2011.
