I’ve been asked to share this information. It didn’t work for us in 09. Did anyone have her come? How was it?

Hello Jan! I hope you’re having a great summer!

I just wanted to let you know that I am starting to book Iditarod talks for 2010. I hope to come back to New Jersey around the same time as last year. Borage and I had a blast! I will be traveling with two sled dogs next year – Borage and Goat. Let me know if you’re interested in a talk and please spread the word to those who might be interested. The price for 2010 will be the same as 2009. Teachers and Librarians can email me for details.

Thanks and enjoy the rest of your summer!

Karen and Borage and Goat Land

Hi Karen,

What is the status of your trip to New Jersey ? I am being asked for a 2009 program budget and need to know whether to include your $600 or not.

Thank you,
Jan

Hello New Jersey Librarians!

I have been compiling a list of libraries in your state and surrounding states, hoping to make a trip east for Iditarod Dog Mushing talks. I have a few questions for you before I try to start making a schedule.

Do you think there are any schools in your area that might be interested in daytime talks? My school and library talks are different. Usually, kids end up loving the talk (and Borage!) and want to bring friends and family back to the library in the evening.

What time of year would you prefer? I am considering late April into early May, or making a separate trip east during the summer. Right now, my travel fee will be $100. If you have one talk, it will be $600 total ($500 for one talk + $100 travel fee). OR if you book unlimited talks in one day, it will be $1100 ($1000 for unlimited talks in one day + $100 travel fee). If I have to make a separate trip from Montana to New Jersey this next summer, the travel fee might need to be increased depending on the price of fuel.

Please let me know ASAP if you think you might be able to drum up more school interest AND what season you prefer.

THANKS!!!

Borage and I really want to come!

Karen

Hi Karen,

Id like to be considered as interested in an Iditarod program in Princeton NJ in the spring. My deadline for any programming done before Feb 28 is today so Im thinking March. I think that wed get the biggest audience if we did the program on a Saturday but the only Saturday available is March 7 at 4:00pm.

We could do an afternoon program Monday Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday of that week as well.

If other NJ libraries are asking for a different time, please let me know. Id like to try to juggle to make it work.

Thank you.

I look forward to meeting you.

Jan
