Hello all,
This morning we had a presenter do a lead awareness program during our regularly scheduled story time. Her name is Sarah Malone-Ditzel and she is from the Southern NJ Perinatal Cooperative. She showed the children a 12 minute Sesame Street video about lead safety and then reinforced what they learned in the video with a rhyming activity. All of the children received coloring books and crayons and the parents received canvas shopping bags, information on lead safety, and were able to sign up to receive a free lead test kit.
The children really enjoyed the video and the parents appreciated the information. Sarah is looking to reach out to more libraries so if anyone is interested I am including her contact info:
