Dianne – Here is Mary’s reply about her pricing -

“I would charge a ballpark of $250 for a once-off activity program. And yes, the fee is flexible – If libraries are looking for a reduced rate for booking a few libraries together, a couple of programs etc, I’m happy to negotiate the price. I'm also agreeing to increase the number of kids in the program if there are parents/other adults there to help if that helps their budgets.  Of course some of how much I can reduce the price will be based on mileage as well.”

You can certainly contact her directly to negotiate.  Her e-mail is ...@gmail.com">paul...@gmail.com

Subject: [njyac] Resonably priced yarn program for kids

We have had a program at the Clifton Library several times now, done by a woman who teaches kids how to make simple objects from yarn.  She calls the program Yarn Good Fun, and she does a great job.  Kids have made tassels, yarn dolls and pompoms and lots of variations – for Halloween she made yarn scarecrows, spiders and ghosts.

She’ll work with a variety of age groups – although we have geared our programs from ages 5 to 12.  We’ve also had both boys and girls at the programs and a number of parents as well.

If you are looking for something a little different for the kids to do, I would highly recommend her.

She also offers a great program about Ireland which includes having the kids learn an irish folk dance and do some Celtic art.  (Ms. Curley is from Ireland.)

Her name is Pauline Mary Curley, and she is flexible about pricing.  In addition to one-time programs, she also will do a series of classes on yarn and knitting.  I’m attaching the letter that she prepared and one of her flyers, but in case the attachments don’t go through on NJYAC, you can contact Mary directly at ...@gmail.com">paul...@gmail.com or by phone at 973-478-4394.

You can also contact me if you would like to see her flyers, in case they don’t go through on NJYAC!
