JUDY FREEMAN'S 26th ANNUAL WINNERS CONFERENCE:

Judy Freeman, author of  Books Kids Will Sit Still For 3(Libraries Unlimited, 2006; www.LU.com) and Once Upon a Time:
Using Storytelling, Creative Drama, and Reader's Theater with Children in Grades K-6 (2007) and The WINNERS! Handbook (2009)  will be holding her annual Winners Conference in NJ on:

Tuesday, April 27. 2010 at The Mansion, Voorhees, NJ
Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Birchwood Manor, Whippany, NJ
Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Pines Manor, Edison, NJ
Friday, April 30, 2010 at Pines Manor, Edison, NJ

As always, this is an all-day seminar featuring her picks  of the 100+ Best Books of the Past Year plus lunch (and breakfast and desserts. It's not exactly a Weight Watchers kind of a day.) An on-site Book Store so you can divest yourself of unwanted
cash and buy the books that ring your bell, with ideas of how to use them with your kids the very next day!

To find the flyer, register, (or to order the 250+ page handbook), go to: www.LU.com/winners  (You may also order it from Follett,  B&T and Amazon)   The handbook  is jammed with lesson plans, worksheets, Reader's Theater scripts, songs, websites, and her selections of best books of 2009 with great ideas on how to use them.  Each handbook is designed to be a yearly update to Books Kids Will Sit Still For 3 (Libraries Unlimited, 2006).

If you don't have a cent left in your budget for conferences or professional books, you will be able to find the Winners! list for free on Follett's website, www.titlewave.com.  Log in, click on ESSENTIALS on the top of the page, then scroll down to EXPERT PICKS and scroll down till you find Judy Freeman. Click. When you get to the Judy Freeman page, click on her name at the top (Drill Down) and you'll find her BER booklists forthis year and last, and the Winner's lists, too (though the new one won't be up till May 1).

Also, in the upcoming ReadKiddoRead newsletter for April, you can find her annotated Best of 2009 Book List of 50+ titles. To
sign up for the newsletter (free, of course, as is everything on this great site), go to
www.ReadKiddoRead.com, and click on NEWSLETTER at the top of the Home Page. Click on COMMUNITY and you'll find all of her  booklists and lots more. If you love the site and book reviews, you can add your opinions there, which she'll  be most happy to see and respond to.
