Maureen Hayes Award Application Open

Applications are now open for the Maureen Hayes Author/Illustrator Award. This $4,000 award was established with funding from Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing in honor of Maureen Hayes to bring together children and nationally recognized authors and illustrators by funding an author/illustrator visit to a library. Great Books Giveaway

The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) is accepting applications for the Great Books Giveaway Competition. Each year, the YALSA office receives approximately 3,000 newly published books, videos, CDs and audio-cassettes from producers and publishers -- materials primarily for young adults. YALSA and the cooperating publishers are offering one year's worth of review materials as a contribution to up to three libraries in need through the Great Books Giveaway Competition. Applications must be submitted online and are due Dec. 1, 2019.

Association for Library Service to Children Grant Application Open

The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) is accepting applications for the Baker & Taylor Summer Reading Program Grant and the Candlewick Press "Light the Way" Grant. The application due date for both opportunities is Dec.1, 2019. The Summer Reading Program Grant is designed to encourage reading programs for children in public libraries by providing $3,000 in financial assistance, while recognizing ALSC members for outstanding program development. The Candlewick Press "Light the Way" Grant award consists of a $3,000 grant to assist a library in conducting exemplary and replicable outreach to underserved populations through a new and innovative program or an expansion of work already being done.
