Hi, Everyone,

I know you’re all busy adjusting to a new school year and opening your public libraries more fully than you might have during the summer. I totally understand that you

don’t want to even think about public library summer reading programming! But, the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) never stops planning for future programs.

In addition to asking if you will vote (by Sept. 15th) on the narrowed down slogan suggestions for the 2022’s program on Oceanography and the theme for 2024’s program:,

I’d really love it if you would consider submitting any programming ideas you have for the 2022 Summer Reading Program all ages manuals on Oceanography. Ideas like “the mysteries of the sea floor, plate tectonics, ocean currents, water, seashore, the atmosphere,” and more! Submit your best ideas here:

State representatives and library staff on CSLP committees will be meeting September 16th for a virtual conference to discuss the slogans, themes and programming ideas.

As you might imagine, the states are a little competitive about bragging about what the library staff in their states suggest or like. Don’t make me have to say that the library staff in NJ doesn’t care! You are the best and most creative people I know. Don’t let me down. Please vote and share your ideas.

Thanks very much!

All the best,
