FYI,
Bernardsville Library - Youth Services Manager - Full Time
Role summary: The Bernardsville Library is looking for a full-time Youth Services Manager to join our dedicated library team.
Why is this job important to the Library?: Service to our patrons is the core of what we do. The Youth Services Manager will provide assistance to patrons and have a genuine opportunity to use innovation and creativity to develop new and effective library programs and services for children, teens and families in the Bernardsville community.
Once you’re here, you’ll: Use your imagination and creativity to guide our small youth services staff to maintain and build our juvenile and teen collection of materials, and connect with our community through reference, reader’s advisory, and outreach efforts. You will continue to develop innovative programming, foster our popular summer reading program, and provide community service opportunities for our students.
What are we looking for?: You look for inspiration everywhere, not just from other libraries. You love to be the first with new ideas. You hate hearing “but we’ve always done it that way.” You are creative and imaginative (did we mention that already?). You are also resourceful, gregarious, proactive, responsive, responsible, can relate tactfully and courteously with the public and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
You have a minimum of 3 years’ professional librarian experience. Preference will be given to candidates with management experience, particularly in a public library. You have an MLS/MLIS or equivalent from an ALA accredited school and possession of or eligibility for a Professional Librarian’s Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
Compensation. Starting salary is $64,000 and includes an attractive benefits package.
How do I apply? Mail resume and cover letter (both are required) describing your interest and qualifications to Alexandria Arnold, Director, Bernardsville Public Library, 1 Anderson Hill Road, Bernardsville, NJ, 07924, or email resume and cover letter to ...@bernardsvillelibrary.org" style="color: #2199e8; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; line-height: 1.3; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;">aarn...@bernardsvillelibrary.org.
