We are thrilled to announce that Katherine Applegate, Newbery Medalist and #1 New York Times-bestselling author, is our 2025 Summer Reading Champion! You and your patrons have surely been touched by Katherine’s beloved and award-winning books for young readers, including Odder, Home of the Brave, Crenshaw, Wishtree, Willodeen, and The One and Only Ivan. She is also the author of the Animorphs series, a beginning reader series, Doggo and Pupper, illustrated by Charlie Alder, and Dogtown, co-authored with Gennifer Choldenko. We know you love these books as much as your patrons probably do! Our thanks to Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for partnering with us and to the author for sharing her time and passion to promote summer reading!  Upcoming Free Event & Poster! Be inspired by Katherine Applegate, our Summer Reading Champion, and be the first to hear about the Summer Color Our World Writing Contest! You will also learn about program ideas from our Manual Committee members. These experts will highlight some of the ideas they came up with from our 2025 programming manual.     Register here to attend live (limit 3,000 participants).
