Date: August 7th 2008

The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission (ALBC) invited governors from all fifty states to appoint a State Liaison to the ALBC Governors' Council. State Liaisons help publicize national bicentennial programs and events in their state, serve as a contact point between the federal ALBC and their state, and coordinate their own state's bicentennial programs and events. Michael P. Riccards has been named by Governor Corzine as New Jersey\x92s liaison to the commission.

If your library plans to hold an event or exhibit in Lincoln\x92s honor in 2009, please let Michael know as soon as possible so that your library\x92s event can be listed on the state website he is producing for this purpose. You can reach Michael with your questions and website inclusions at mriccards@PROTECTED.

Norma Blake, NJ State Librarian
