Please excuse any cross-postings.

I am passing on information about National Gaming Day @ Your Library. I hope many of your libraries can get involved in this great program.

Sharon Rawlins Youth Services Consultant NJ State Library

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 15, 2008. It is ALA's first National Gaming Day @ Your Library.

This will include a national videogame tournament using the GT System so that your players can compete against those in other libraries across the country.

For the event, Hasbro will be donating a copy of Pictureka! to every public library in the US, with the hopes of setting a record for the most people playing a single board game at the same time time. As an additional goodwill gesture, Wizards of the Coast is providing the first 1,000 libraries that sign up for National Gaming Day with the materials for Dungeons and Dragons and Magic: The Gathering sessions.

Visit www.icanhaz.com/ngd for more details and to register your library for National Gaming Day!
