Hi Everyone,
I'm passing on this e-mail from Sharon Orlando, Watchung PL, who has some library programs she'd like to recommend.
Sharon Rawlins Youth Services Consultant, NJ State Library
Here they are - and I hope other libraries and families will enjoy them as much as we have here! Happy New Year!
Christopher Hudert, Applause Unlimited Once again the Watchung Library presented The Velveteen Rabbit, which was wondrously performed by Christopher Hudert of Applause Unlimited. With puppets, props and music, he created a magical atmosphere that captivated all ages. Older children (8-10), who spent the pre-show minutes wrestling and running, were spellbound once the program began. After the show, a mother said that her one-year child watched every minute. This program is a winner. Christopher, who was not only a former Ringling Brothers Circus Clown, but the Boss Clown of the circus\x92 Clown Alley, is a master storyteller. He knows how to enchant audiences. Applause Unlimited offers many other stories as well, along with discounted pricing for multiple bookings. Bob Biastre: Books with Mr. Bob
Bob, who has been a children's librarian for over 25 years, combines the timeless ease of Mr. Rogers, and "The Voice" that Barry Bostwick only wishes he had. Bob works in real time with his young audience, highlighting their world and giving them opportunities to look, listen and repeat new things. On a rainy day in November, he did a wonderful program on rain and friends while moms and kids quietly cuddled together. Need a peaceful oasis that will soothe frazzled families? Call Bob!

Debbie Kirsch: Story and Craft with Debbie Kirsch Debbie, an early childhood teacher and artist, brings books to life. She captures the children's attention with an almost whispered reading of a story. Then as if by magic, she creates an art project using the simplest of library art supplies (paper, markers, beans and chenille stems). Lots of conversation and amazingly unique artwork develop around the table. Debbie\x92s process-oriented, child-centered program enables children to see and appreciate what they can do.

Mark Zacharia, Magician When Mark performed at Watchung Library, the room echoed with giggles and shouts from the beginning of the program to the end \x96 so beware - this is not a quiet event! Yes, you will see magic, and more. Mark is an entertainer, who offers a variety show of comedic routines punctuated with magic. He delighted children and adults. If you\x92re looking for an engaging, laughter-filled show featuring magic, you won\x92t be disappointed with Mark Zacharia.
