Literacy Volunteers of New Jersey will conduct the first statewide Health Literacy Summit on April 3, 2009 at the Enterprise Center at Burlington County College. The summit will bring together participants from New Jersey government, adult education sectors, the health and education research community, health care and health service organizations, social service organizations and the business community. A major goal will be to raise awareness of the critical role that literacy can play in improving health outcomes and reducing health disparities. It will also enable participants to identify partners and potential collaborations so we can begin working together in NJ to promote health literacy and reduce barriers to health care.
