Please excuse cross-postings.
We are looking to revamp our summer reading programs to make things more uniform throughout our system and have run into some brick walls. For a couple of years now, one of our branches has counted minutes for the teen program rather than books read. In doing so, they also allow teens to count time spent reading magazines. They would like to continue to do so, but other branches are adamantly against allowing this. Does anyone else allow teens to count magazines? The feeling is that some teens will not read books but most will read magazines and we don’t want to discourage the non-readers. Any thoughts?
As always, thank-you for sharing your ideas.
