At long last! Check out the 2009 website for One Book New Jersey: www.onebooknewjersey.org.

Here, you'll find lots of great resources to use for displays, programs, and promotion for Art, Marley : A Dog Like No Other, Life as We Knew It, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. And don't miss some great contest and raffle opportunities!

There are read-alikes and booklists for each selection. There are program ideas and links to speakers, craft projects, and special activities for all ages. Plus, available for your manipulation, the committee has created a press release that can be customized and sent to your local news papers, blogs, and stations. Of course, you'll also come across links to Cafe Press (for some great NJLA products), and you can use these products for prizes, give-aways, and advertisement. While you're accessing the site, download a 8.5x11 copy of the 2009 OBNJ poster, PLUS access four writeable .pdf files of flyers that feature this year's titles. You'll be able to advertise your library's programs using the images featured on the poster! Special thanks to poster artist, Michael Rossi, for creating these customizable program flyers.

Don't forget to post all of your library's programs to the OBNJ Calendar (www.onebooknewjersey.org/calendar). This is the only way that NJLA and the committee and track program-related statistics, so let us know what you're doing! Plus, you can use the calendar to see what other libraries are doing to celebrate OBNJ.

Love Your Library Month Raffle! All libraries who post a program to the calendar during the month of February will be automatically entered to a raffle to win a copy of each of the four 2009 selected books. The program can be scheduled during any month, but must be POSTED during February in order to be entered in the raffle.

Please leave your comments, suggestions, and reactions on OBNJ's message board (www.onebooknewjersey.org/board). Send any specific questions about the OBNJ program to kate...@yahoo.com.

POSTERS! The 2009 OBNJ posters were sent out via delivery last Friday to all NJ public libraries. Depending on your schedule, you should receive the posters this week or next. If you do not have your poster in-hand, please do not contact me without checking the following: 1. In the case of branch libraries, posters are sent to your main library. Systems with a main library have been sent enough posters to send to your branches AND member libraries. Please check with the main branch to receive your poster. 2. Only ONE poster is sent per public library building. Please ask around in different departments to see if the poster has been received.

School libraries that would like to receive a copy of the 2009 OBNJ poster should send an email to kate...@yahoo.com with their region and delivery information AND their school's mailing address. Extra posters will be delivered as long as supplies last. If I do NOT have a poster avaible for you, I will respond to your email; otherwise, you can assume that a poster is on the way. (If you have already emailed me, I do have your request.)

Enjoy all the fun that One Book New Jersey has to offer!
