ARTHUR, the award-winning PBS KIDS GO! television series, and CVS Caremark All Kids Can, a program dedicated to making life easier for kids with disabilities, are teaming up to announce the "ARTHUR/All Kids Can Character Search"!

From February 1 through March 31, 2009, kids ages 6-12 are invited to create and submit a new friend for Arthur. The selected finalist will receive a visit from Marc Brown, creator of ARTHUR, and will be featured along with his or her character in an ARTHUR interstitial. Increase the chances of Marc Brown coming to YOUR market by promoting the "ARTHUR/All Kids Can Character Search."

Below is a list of materials to help you get the word out, followed by a description of each item.

7. Website The ARTHUR website, www.pbskidsgo.org/arthur, will feature the "ARTHUR/All Kids Can Character Search" on its homepage for the duration of the Character Search, from February 1 through March 31, 2009. Link to the ARTHUR page from your local website for information about the Character Search and downloadable entry form.

8. Printed Entry Forms The "ARTHUR/All Kids Can Character Search" entry forms can be requested through the Resource Room. They are packaged in quantities of 50 and are limited to 4 packs per station. The entry form is also available on the Resource Room of pbskids.org as a PDF if you would like to print additional copies to distribute to local libraries, schools, and community organizations and partners.

9. Educator Letter An additional supplement to the entry form, the educator letter helps teachers explain the Character Search to their students. It breaks down the details of how to enter and offers suggestions for talking about disabilities. Forward the letter to educators as you distribute the entry forms to your local schools and education centers.

10. Promotional Copy and Image The document on the Resource Room offers promotional copy and the official logo of the Character Search for use in your March program guide, or inclusion in your Kids and Family Club newsletters and member and viewer e-communications.

11. On-Air Promo (coming soon) A fun and exciting 30-second promo will be available from PBS early February. Feed info and a preview of the promo are forthcoming.

12. HTML Postcard Template (coming soon) Tell your members, viewers or educator listserve about the "ARTHUR/All Kids Can Character Search" with an HTML postcard. A customizable template will be available for station use in the next couple of weeks.
