I hope that you have had a chance to take a look through the 2009 One Book New Jersey website (www.onebooknewjersey.org); feel free to leave feedback on the message board (www.onebooknewjersey.org/board)!
There are a few things going on this year to which I hope you'll pay particular attention:
1. The OBNJ calendar: www.onebooknewjersey.org/calendar. Please post your programs! The calendar is our only means of taking statistics at this time, so posting your contests and programs is extremely important to NJLA and the One Book program. If you support the program in any way, let us know! OR if you are supporting the programs in other ways that just don't fit into the confines of the calendar, EMAIL ...@yahoo.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">kate...@yahoo.com and let me know what's going on at your library! Feel free to send local news articles that highlight your library's support of OBNJ, or articles that have been placed in your library's newsletters, etc.
2. February is Love Your Library Month! All libraries who post programs during the month of February will be automatically entered into a raffle to win a complete set of the 2009 selected books. Programs do not have to be scheduled in February; they must just be posted to the calendar anytime between Feb 1 and Feb 28. The more programs your library is planning, the better your chances are in the raffle!
3. One Book New Jersey is hosting the second OBNJ Program Contest! Find a contest form at the website (www.onebooknewjersey.org/programs). Contest entries will be accepted through October 2009. Prizes TBA.
4. OBNJ will be hosting a poster session at this year's annual NJLA Spring Conference! Do you have some great pictures from OBNJ-related programs or displays? Do you have brochures or flyers that you would like to show off? Send whatever you've got via email to ...@yahoo.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">kate...@yahoo.com or to: 470 De Korte Drive, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417 to the attention of Kate Vasilik. Stop by the OBNJ poster session on Tuesday, April 28, 2:30-3:30 p.m.!
