Hi Jennifer,
Sorry to e-mail the entire list but it’s
better that I do. Unfortunately, the grant stipulates that these trainings are
for public librarians only. There may be a later component that includes school
librarians but for right now, it’s only public librarians.
Also, anyone interested in taking the training,
please respond OFF LIST – thanks! Remember hitting “reply”
goes to the entire list.

Goose Programs™/Vermont Center for the Book with funding provided by
the National Science Foundation. As part of the grant, they have asked 10
state library systems from the US to be part of the program by
doing a series of What’s the BIG Idea? ™ train-the-trainers
workshops.

families excited about using math and science concepts through the ongoing
story hour programming in libraries. NJ is participating in this program by
having one librarian train three others and then they in turn train 20
additional librarians. The librarians who have been trained need to
incorporate the What’s the BIG Idea? ™ activities in 8 of their
regular library programs by the end of September 2009 and report this to
Mother Goose Programs™. The 20 librarians will get a manual and
activity materials worth over $300 for their libraries.
