Join the New Jersey Department of State in celebrating Women's History Month

March 2009

On behalf of Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells and the New Jersey Department of State, we invite you to participate with us in a month-long celebration of women\x92s contributions to our state in commemoration of Women\x92s History Month 2009. In an effort to promote New Jersey\x92s rich cultural resources we ask that you make us aware of any free or discounted events and programs that your institution is running this March that showcase the remarkable accomplishments of women in the arts, history or science. This celebration offers all of us a wonderful opportunity to increase the visibility of our state\x92s cultural offerings and highlight our unique institutions.

Information about free or discounted programs/events will be publicized by the Department of State, and posted on a special calendar of events on its website. It is our intention to help draw attendees to your organization's Women's History Month events.

Please send your organization's name; the title of your event; the event location and address; the date and time of your event; a contact phone number and/or e-mail; a website address; and a brief description of the event, via email, by Wednesday, March 4, 2009, to Mada Liebman of the Department of State at mada.liebman@PROTECTED or fax it to her at 609.777.1764.

If you have any questions please call Sara Cureton at 609.943.3306.

Thank you for joining us in this celebration of New Jersey women and Women\x92s History Month 2009.

Sincerely,

Marc Mappen, Executive Director, NJ Historical Commission

Steve Runk, Executive Director, NJ State Council on the Arts

Sara R. Cureton, Director, NJ Cultural Trust
