New Jersey State Library Fundraising for Preservation Workshop
Did you know that grants are available to help cover the costs of setting up a preservation program and for specific projects such as microfilming or digitization of collections, conservation assessments, disaster planning, and for the purchase of preservation/disaster supplies and equipment? In today\x92s harsh economic climate putting preservation needs aside is perilous for your library\x92s unique collections and unnecessary given the wealth of funding opportunities. On the federal level, grants to preserve special collections are available, but many libraries face difficulties in meeting the criteria required to apply. One key to moving ahead is the development of a funding strategy. Through thoughtful planning, libraries can be competitive in raising money to meet their preservation goals. Find out more at this special workshop presented by Lee Price, Development Director at the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts.
