Public Speaking Advice from the Pros!
Save the date! May 29, 2009
The New Jersey State Library and the New Jersey Library Association have partnered to bring you a wonderful opportunity.
We are bringing in "Voicescape" to help you improve your presentation skills. .
Founded by professional actors in Chicago, Voicescape draws on voice & speech, improvisation, and movement training techniques commonly found in the theatre, and appies them to the business sector. They believe that any business communication, whether face-to-face or voice-to-voice, can be enhanced by simple lessons in relaxation and stage presence.
Make your material dynamic and alive to your listeners by finding your signature style. Content will include:
Voice: How to project your sound, articulate your words, and find the most pleasing pitches
Nonverbal Communication: Effective postures and gestures, eye contact, relaxation tips
On Camera: Learning how the audience sees you, through videotaping and feedback from a Voicescape trainer. Five attendees in each session will have the opportunity to be videotaped and critiqued by a professional actress
Dealing with Pre-show Jitters: How to let your nervous energy work for you; memorization and rehearsal tips
Stay Tuned! Registration will be announced soon. This workshop will be held at the Sheraton Eatontown on May 29, 2009. There will be two sessions: morning session from 9:30-12:30 and afternoon session from 1:30-4:30. Limit of 50 people per session. More details will follow.
