YALSA's (Young Adult Library Services Association) Quick Picks Committee is currently reading nominations for what will become YALSA's 2010 Quick Picks list of recommended reading. Quick Picks are books that Reluctant Readers - teens who don't like to read for whatever reason - will pick up on their own, read and even tell their friends about. The list will be finalized and announced in January 2010 after much debate and testing of the materials with teens across the country.

This month's nominated titles for YALSA's Quick Picks for Reluctant YA Readers list is now available from this web page:

http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/yalsa/booklistsawards/quickpicks/quickpick.cfm

We would love your feedback and participation on this list as well as with your nominations from the field. Your experience with Reluctant Readers is important! If you'd like to nominate a title you feel would be a good fit for this list, please review the selection criteria on the web site. I can also provide you access to our committee wiki so that you can learn more. Here is a link to the online form to send us your nominations: http://www.ala.org/yalsa/booklists/quickpicks

Thanks for all that you do to get more teens reading!

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions.
