The New Jersey State Library is pleased to sponsor two workshops on graphic novel collection development.

Graphic novels have become one of the hottest collection types in libraries. If you want to learn about how your library can have the graphic novels that your customers are looking for, please plan to attend one of these full-day workshops!

Some of the topics to be covered include:

• What are the best graphic novel collection development resources for librarians?
• How can comic book publishers help you with promoting your graphic novel collection?
• Should you create separate graphic novel sections for adults, young adults and children in your library?
• What is manga and which of your library\x92s customers would it appeal to?
• What titles would be contained in basic graphic novel collections for schools and public libraries?

Guest Speakers:

These workshops will feature four guest speakers who are nationally recognized in the comics community. They will cover subjects that are critical to graphic novel collection development:

A core collection bibliography will be supplied to all attendees. This can be used to build or augment your library\x92s graphic novel collection.
