Hi Jane,

When I was at Maplewood Library [am now at Glen Ridge], I ran a program for a Latino Celebration [called the "Origins of Latin American Dance"] that included capoeda [and break dance], salsa, & book talks.  The capoeda & breakdance were  done as a performance and a workshop teaching moves and dance elements-- by a local teacher/performer, Ron [professional name, PEACE]  973-517-9104.  He was great & involved even the littiest kids.

We also had a salsa group [for older kids & adults] from      Bette White Dance Center - www.inspirationaldance.com - (973) 761-7236.  They got the room up and dancing!  In the library!  It was sensational, and everybody talked about it for months afterward.

you can google the flyer for pics if you're interested.

I can't give you costs because they gave us a real break being local, but both are professional groups

that will  give a terriffic performance and/or workshop, if you are interested in a dance program.

 Hope this helps,

Subject: [njyac] Performer recommendation

Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a performer that would be good to use in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month?  Our assistant director is looking for someone who could do a family style music program or something similar.
Thanks in advance, everyone is always so helpful.
