I have had a few discussions that we should consider lowering the requirements for paid titles in print, microform or CD as there may no longer be a need for this large of a browsing collection with so many periodicals available online for reference. Existing regulation:

N.J.A.C. 15:21-2.5 Library materials \x85 (c) Each library shall purchase or provide annually periodical holdings, indexes and back issues as set forth in Chart B below.

Chart B: Periodical Holdings Population Number of Paid Titles: Print, Microform or CD Based

0-5,000 25
5,000-9,999 50
10,000-24,999 75
25,000-49,999 100
50,000 and over 150
