Another Marshmallow idea ... One summer I found directions to make a simple catapult with a plastic spoon, rubber band and some cardboard pieces... then the kids shot marshmallows with the catapult to see who could send them the farthest. (There seem to be several variations of the catapult on the internet.) Peggy

Speaking of marshmallows, how about those marshmallow shooters, aka blowguns where you use miniature marshmallows? I bought some of the camo ones from oriental trading and the kids loved them!

Dear Michelle and Fran,

What about having marshmallow death matches?

Two marshmallows are placed on a paper plate, can draw facial features with icing or food coloring, with two toothpicks placed as arms into each marshmallow, then place in a microwave. Surprise! see who survived

the microwave! The tallest one wins.

Happy Halloween.

With Kindest Regards,

Hi, So glad you thought of this-that book is phenomenal as is the second one. I have so many teens, tweens and adults who have loved it. Please share all you compile. Thanks. Ellie Strbo Middletown Public Library Middletown, N.J. 07748

Hi, all

We are planning a Hunger Games party for the end of October at the Highland Park Public Library and we are hoping some of you will have some creative ideas to help us make it successful.

We have ordered magnets from Zazzle and posters from Scholastic as giveaways and we will have trivia questions. We have a few ideas (knot tying, nerf archery) but we just know some of you will have something great to share!

We would like it to be a competition and we 'd like to start with a trailer we'll make similar to what you can see on youtube and then.....let the games begin...only one will survive :)

Any ideas? Snack suggestions? We will happily compile all ideas and share what works with all.

Thanks!
