Technology Tapas (http://njsllearning.blogspot.com/) is based on the 23Things (http://plcmcl2-things.blogspot.com/) program by Helene Blowers, formerly of the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County (http://www.plcmc.org/) in Charlotte, NC. It was adapted for the New Jersey State Library (http://www.njstatelib.org/) by Andrea Simzak and Bob Keith. The Technology Tapas program is a self-paced technology discovery program spanning several weeks in which participants are escorted through a series of weekly exercises to introduce them to a host of technology topics such as blogs, wikis, RSS, photo sharing and others.

After producing and coordinating this program for the New Jersey State Library, Andrea and Bob collected what they learned in a wiki so that it might be more easily shared with the New Jersey library community. The Technology Tapas Program Guide (http://njsltechnologytapas.pbworks.com/) contains all of the steps we took to produce a quality learning program and allows you to build on what we did and adapt the program for your library. It is our hope that this guide will encourage you to make this program for your staff (or patrons) and help them to learn all of what these new tools have to offer.
