Also try The Little Brute Family but Russell Hoban. It always
worked with my family.

Awesome recommendation,
thanks! I'll compile a list and send it through some time next
week. Take care!

I always liked Charlotte Zolotow’s The Quarreling
Book. Everyone is behaves with anger to the next family member, until the
dog responds with unconditional love, and happiness is passed back up the
queue. The only issue might be the father is present in the family and is
responsive, not a likely scenario for these youngsters. It does, however,
show how feelings are spread unconsciously, and how important it is to be
mindful of one’s actions – in a very cute and funny way.
Hello,
and happy summer!
A patron/friend is currently at a women's shelter with her young
daughter. There are many other families there as well, but very little
for the kids to do. She noticed that many of them are quite angry and
there are few, if any, books that may be helpful to them.
Can you recommend some titles that this mom can read to the other kids that are
positive, happy, self-affirming, hopeful, etc...? Jamie Lee Curtis', I'm
Gonna Like Me, and Karen Beaumont's, I Like Myself, come to mind, but I'm not
sure what else to suggest.
Your insights are welcome. Many thanks in advance. Have a good
week!
