Hi Everyone,

I am asking for volunteers to join a planning committee for the annual Youth Services Forum: A Day of Hot Topics and Issues in Library Services to Children and Young Adults.

A number of years ago, we had a working committee that met monthly in the late spring and early summer to plan the next fall’s program. In the past few years, there hasn’t been a formal committee but I have relied on a terrific group of librarians to help me put this event together. Due to my other job responsibilities, I need to again formally convene a team of librarians to help with this.  Since this program is sponsored by NJLA, the State Library, and the NJ Association of School Librarians, I am looking for children’s and teen librarians who work with a wide range of ages from both public and school libraries.

Monthly meetings will take place starting in April, 2011.  Most of the meetings will be through conference calls and e-mail.  The Youth Services Forum has traditionally been held in October at the Monmouth County Library.
