FYI,

For anyone looking for a book that ties into the theme of this summer’s children’s reading program or to add to their world cultures collection:

Union, NJ children’s author Sonya Kimble-Ellis has written a book about 4 kids who go on an odyssey to Central Peten, a department in the county of Guatemala. The Sandcastle Kids: A Mayan Adventure is a vibrant and colorful text for children age 6 and older. In it, the kids travel back to 420 AD after building a sandcastle on a beach near their homes in Southern California.  It’s the first installment of a series.

Attachments of a press release and order f orm with more information are included, if anyone is interested.

Here’s a link to more press about the book http://www.unionnavigator.com/profiles/blogs/local-author-releases-first-in

Best,
