Hi Everyone,

YALSA is looking for a YALSA member to serve as a rep on the United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY). One representative will be selected by the ALA Executive Board to serve a two-year term from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2013.  YALSA personal members who are interested in representing YALSA on this board must submit their cover letter and resumes to YALSA at ...@ala.org">yalsa@a la.org no later than Sept. 23, 2011.  Please be sure to put “USBBY Applicant” in the subject line. 

I’m sending it out to youth services librarians in NJ because one requirement is that the rep must attend all board meetings, which are held in New York City.  Since neither YALSA nor USBBY covers travel costs, and since funds for travel are scarce these days, the person will most likely be someone who can get to NYC without too much trouble or expense.
