Have you always wondered what the staff at the New Jersey State Library's Library Development Bureau does? Want to be one of the first to hear about upcoming projects that the State Library is working on?

Come visit the Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library for an informal "meet and greet" with the NJ State Library LDB staff on Thursday, November 17, 2011 and find out from 10 am - 11 am, coffee and refreshments at 9:30 am. Library staff from neighboring libraries is particularly welcome to attend.

The Library Development Bureau staff who will be there include Peggy Cadigan, Associate State Librarian, Head of Library Development; Michele Stricker, Deputy Director of Library Development and Preservation Management; David Lisa, Urban Libraries and Adult Services Specialist; Sharon Rawlins, Youth Services Consultant; and new staff member Jennifer Podolsky, Business Outreach Specialist. Natasha Peter, the Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) Compliance Officer and the newest library staff member, Tiffany McClary, Director, Marketing and Public Relations will also be joining the program.

The Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library was one of the winning libraries to receive a State Library funded makeover, based on recommendations by the "SWAT Team of Library Transformers." The SWAT team was tasked with assisting libraries with transformation projects. Matawan-Aberdeen was selected based on their need for additional space to house its growing DVD collection. The library also opened its new Teen Place on the second floor this past June. Library staff will be glad to give a tour of the library after the LDB presentations.
