FYI,

 

The New Jersey State Library has received information on the following grants, one of which is specifically for designated New Jersey library communities.

 

1. Praxair Foundation-Their "Community Service" category has, as one of its focus areas, public libraries. The program is called "Library Links" and is designed to assist libraries in upgrading their technology, acquiring new materials or initiating innovative programs. Praxair has also sponsored summer reading programs and literacy courses and refurbished meeting rooms. The communities in New Jersey that are eligible are: Belvidere, Berlin Township, Bridgeton, Burlington, Dover, Fairfield, Farmingdale, Flemington, Keasbey, Lawrence Township, Linden, Newark, Penns Grove, Pine Brook, Princeton, Toms River, Trenton, Woodbridge and Woodridge. 2.  Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation- "The main thrust of the Foundation is to provide support to non-profit organizations that are working to foster a more creative and sustainable New Jersey". The 2012 grant categories include the Arts, Education, Environment and Media. The next deadline for letters of inquiry for new applicants is February 1, 2012. 3.  National Endowment for the Arts Invites Applications for Our Town Creative Placemaking Projects-Grants of $25,000 to $150,000 will be awarded for arts projects that help improve the overall quality of life in communities of all sizes across the United States.
