 Hi, everyone,

I attended two programs recently about incorporating "digital storytelling" into library programs and tried it for the first time last night at the end of my traditional storytelling program.  The kids loved it!

The only app I've purchased so far is Mo Willems "Don't Let the Pigeon Run This App" and it is worth every cent.

What I like about it from a storytellers' perspective and for early literacy development is that:
1) It is based on a book that can be checked out.
2) It takes the book beyond the page in a way that is interactive and helps to develop imagination, vocabulary, decision making, sequence, and other literacy skills.
3) The illustrations were based on the original illustrations in the books.
4) It keeps the focus on the story and not on playing a game.

I think this app is brilliant and would love to find more that meet this criteria.  I want to avoid apps that are more like games, even when based on a book, or apps that were illustrated in a more generic, cartoon style instead of being the work of a known children's book illustrator.  (There is room for these types of apps, but it isn't what I need for this program).

Can you help?  If you know of apps that meet my criteria, will you post them or send them to me?  It will save me hours of searching.

Thanks,
