We
are hoping to have a gaming room set up during the fall NJSIL conference
staffed with young people who would be willing to demonstrate some of the
latest games and give our attendees the opportunity to try them out. I am
looking for a source from which to borrow gaming equipment and programs, as
well as young people who would be available to demonstrate and teach our
attendees how to use some of the games. I know Friday is a school day but
perhaps you know of some young college students who may have a more flexible
schedule.
Our conference is scheduled from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 at Ocean Place Resort in Long
Branch. Friday from 8am to 6 pm usually has the heaviest attendance and
Saturday will run from 8am to 3pm. Thursday is a pre-conference and would be
the optimal time to set up the gaming room. Our school librarians mostly attend
on Friday but Sat is open to administrators, teachers, and public librarians as
well so your programs would reach a wide audience.
Please let me know if you are able to work with us. We have never tried this
before but anticipate that it may be quite popular. Thank you.
