The Home Improvement Reference Center includes magazine articles and reference content, as well as videos and images designed to help homeowners tackle home repairs safely. It provides the latest step-by-step information along with background information and basic tips on topics including electrical, plumbing, woodworking, outdoor projects, maintenance and decorating.

Your customers can access Home Improvement Reference Center through June 30, 2013, by logging into your library’s website remotely or by visiting your library and searching for this database. It is also available by visiting www.jerseyclicks.org. You may also access it here: http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=ip,uid&profile=hirc. The NJ State Library will be sending out a press release to the media next week to publicize this offering.

For the past two years, libraries in New Jersey have shown to be a valuable and reliable community asset following natural disasters, not only as community shelters and charging stations, but as sources of important information and communication.  In the wake of one of our state’s worst natural disasters, our long-time community partner EBSCO Publishing has generously donated the Home Improvement Reference Center^™  to libraries in the New Jersey Library Network to aid our residents affected by Hurricane Sandy. Home Improvement Reference Center^™  is a resource which provides detailed, user-friendly, “how-to” information about home improvements and repairs. This valuable information will be available to library patrons as they rebuild to ensure those making their own repairs or faced with clean up or do-it-yourself renovations have the know-how to handle these tasks.
