Welcome to the ranks of New Jersey Library directors.  Our next New Directors Orientation will be held on February 20 & 27, 2013, at the New Jersey State Library.  I encourage you to attend this two-day workshop as it covers essential and vital information to succeed in your new position, and gives you an opportunity to network with other New Jersey public library directors.

The workshops will concentrate on the following areas for new library directors in New Jersey:

                Library Finance and Per Capita State Aid

                Budgeting and Finance

                Library Law, Policy and Procedures

                Return of Excess Library Funds Law

                Library Marketing and Promotion

                Working with the Board of Trustees

There will also be an overview of services offered by the New Jersey State Library and the Talking Book and Braille Center focusing on how WE can help serve YOU in your new position.  This is a great opportunity for new directors to learn the basics about their responsibilities and to network with other library professionals throughout the state.

Space is limited to 25.  Attendance at both sessions is mandatory.  Continental breakfast and lunch will be served on both days. The workshops run from 9:00 to 4:00.
