Hi, everyone –
We have a stumper that we need some help with. The description from the library customer is below.
“I am 26 years old and when I was very very young (single digits) you had a book in the children's section that I am now very interested in knowing what it was. It was a small, square book, simple illustrations, and it was about a boy
who misbehaved so his mother tied his overalls to the clothes lines however he slipped out and walked through the town nude. It looked as though it was drawn in maybe the 1950s-1960s. There was not a whole lot of color in the illustrations. I remember the
boy’s hair was black, the overalls he wore were blue and maybe once in a while the grass markings were green, it was mostly line drawing, sort of reminds me of Maurice Sendak but with less color and less activity on each page (if that makes sense).”
In following up with the customer, we’ve determined it was not
No, David! or any of the Sam books by Barbro Lindren. It is possible the book is an easy reader or a small picture book.
If you have any ideas at all, please send them along!
Many thanks,
Suzanne
