FREE BOOKS STILL AVAILABLE!
As some of you may know, Pat Tumulty saw a promotion on the Facebook page of WPVI in Philadelphia. If groups promoted liking the Channel 6 FB page, they could win books. NJLA came in second and was awarded over 14,000 new books. These books came from First Book (www.firstbook.org) which distributes new books for children in low income communities to own.
SO, 9 (Yes, NINE!) pallets of books were delivered to the Monroe Township Public Library in late August and lots of libraries have come and picked up boxes for their community. The age range is from baby (board books) to teens. Basically, there are a few titles in each age range. We still have some books left, so if any library is still interested, they can contact me to pick up some boxes.
Just a reminder, the books are for low income communities, not just urban communities. Please spread the word to others you think meet this criteria and are interested.
