Writing Contest for Young Readers

Sponsored by the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress

 

2014 Entry Guidelines

Contest theme:    Write a personal letter to an author whose work (either fiction or nonfiction) changed your view of the world or yourself. Letters are judged on state and national levels. Tens of thousands of students from across the country enter Letters About Literature each year. If you are in grades 4-12, you are eligible to enter the Letters About Literature reading and writing contest.

NEW this year:

Grades 11 and 12 are back in the contest!

There are two deadlines:

Deadline for Level 3, Grades 9 – 12:  Deadline is December 10, 2013

Deadline for Level 1, Grades 4 – 6,  and Level 2, Grades 7-8:  Deadline is January 10, 2014

 

Fill out the Official Entry Blank (make sure you put an email address where we can reach you) and submit your letter to:
