FYI,

Just passing along information I received from the President and founder of the African Cultural School Program  about the program it offers and information from an author about her books.

"We have a program specially structured for Pre-K – 1st grade called Tales From Africa. This program introduces children to other cultures during their developing years helping cultivate a natural interest in other cultures.

Attached is a brochure that explains the details of the program and how our services can be a part of your library activities.I would like the opportunity to meet with you so you can see firsthand how Tales From Africa, can be a part of your library’s goals to promote cultural understanding and diversity amongst your youngest patrons this coming summer."

Sincerely,

Simisola Obaisi

President

Dear Librarians,

I recently created a website, www.KateMaxwellBooks.com, offering seven free Middle Grade books I wrote to encourage reading and writing among students.  My books are all in the genre of Magical Realism and include titles such as:  Escape From Atlantis, The Boy Who Saw Ghosts, and Karvaal:  A World of Now.  They all have empowering characters, fast-paced plots, and were written to stimulate a child’s imagination.  The books are appropriate for ages 10 to 14 and are available as free downloads.  They can also be purchased cheaply through Kindle and Lulu, as some children have told me they don't like reading books online.  There are also fun writing activities on the site and videos with sample chapter readings.  I hope you will review my site and consider adding the link to your collection for the Summer Reading Program or pass it on for general reading purposes.  Thank you for your valuable time.

Warm Regards,

Kate Maxwell
